Team member Pastor Mirna shares on how to overcome fear. This message is spoken in spanish and translated by Pastor Willy.
The team take turns speaking each week on a theme. Our first 6 weeks were “Who is Jesus Christ to Me,” The theme for the next weeks is “What are the Obstacles in Following Jesus.” Mirna identifies Fear as an obstacle and shows through God’s Word how God’s Love and power help us overcome Fear!
This is a great message from a sincere follower of Jesus. I encourage you to listen! https://www.facebook.com/alcance.samahua.7/videos/1092498697945773

Alcance Samahua is the name of the outreach and guides the activities of the Team. It means Reach Santa Maria Huatulco. The name of the church is House of Hope and the Hope is in Jesus Christ!
Outreach is the name of the game! Pastor Willy and Narahi, the head pastors, are out in the community visiting families, keeping in touch through Whats App and Facebook. Narahi and the ladies have an online Bible Study each week and a monthly “Spa of the Soul” a time for the ladies to gather and learn and fellowship, developing relationships!
The outreach aspect is amazing! English classes for the children, Music classes for the children, a community day providing haircuts for 15 pesos (about 75 cents US dollars), and a bazaar with clothing and household items for 5 pesos (about 2 cents in US dollars).
In August we have a team coming from YWAM. They will stay at the Casa so the team is busy building bunk beds and the ladies in the fellowship are planning the menu, getting ready to provide 3 meals a day for the group of 10 – for 13 days! This is an undertaking anywhere! We are raising money to provide food and plates, toiletpaper, etc for the young missionaries. The estimated cost is $7.50 per person per day. So that is $75 US per day for 10 days, $750.00.
Help with the YWAM outreach!
If you would like to help you can email me or send a donation to Pastor Willy through Paypal. willymex78@outlook.com please send a note your donation is for the YWAM outreach, let them know you are my friend too!
Prayer of course is the most important contribution. Please pray that God will prepare the ground for the YWAM team, for their health and protection and direction of the Holy Spirit.
The YWAM team will be hosting programs for the children and doing a 3 day missions conference for surrounding Alcance churches. Most pastors have not had any formal training, they are faithful servants who want their people to know Jesus and experience His love and freedom. None of the pastors are paid by the churches, they all have businesses or work to support themselves, their family and often the church itself.
Speaking of support, it is so humbling each week to see our church members drop their coins in the offering. For many giving 10 pesos (50 cents US) is a sacrifice! If you can only give $7.50 for one day of meals for one person…that is a huge help! The ladies in the fellowship are providing homemade tortillas, chickens from their homes, eggs from their homes and I’m sure they will be providing lots of hot sauce! he he…
One of my favorite outreach projects is Manos de Esperanza. Hands of Hope is a sewing ministry. They teach women to sew and then provide ways for them to sell their items. The women start out making “cubrabocas” – masks! You can read more about the ministry here.
The church provides the materials and the ladies give 10% of their sale back to the church. This teaches that God supplies and we give as he gives. I recently learned these ladies are using craft scissors to cut their fabrics. Items like 100% cotton, elastic and even good thread are hard to come by.
My mother was inspired by a story I shared about the Christmas boxes; Mirna’s daughter, Dulce who is 11, received a beautiful handmade sundress in her box. Dulce loves her dress so much; Mirna said she hand washes it and wears it constantly.
My mother has a room full of high quality 199% cotton quilting fabric. She found a cute dress pattern on Etsy, called a “Pillowcase Dress” and made 19 dresses! A fellow expat brought them down to us and we gave them to the girls in the fellowship. They loved them, the mothers were thrilled! If you do a Christmas Box include an age appropriate clothing item, these are very helpful.
